Dave Cullen, Test Instrumentation Manager
Dave Cullen is the manager of our Test Instrumentation division where we design and manufacture test equipment for sale through our worldwide Distributor network.
Dave is a Chartered Engineer with over thirty years of experience in RF and electronic products.
Dave holds a BEng (Hons) Degree in Electrical Systems Engineering (1st class) and an MSc in Electronic Product Development for which he holds a distinction; all of which he achieved through part-time study whilst working.
Dave started work in 1982 as a test technician in the power supplies division of Farnell Instruments Ltd before moving to the RF Instruments division.
In 1989 he joined the York Electronics Centre, a commercial research and development department attached to the University of York’s, Department of Electronics as Senior Technician.
On its formation in 1995, Dave joined York EMC Services (YES) as a Senior Technician, later becoming a Senior Engineer in the Product Development Department. Design work undertaken includes a range of RF noise generators, active antennas, spectrum analyser subsystems, stripline rigs and portable antenna masts, as well custom design work for YES clients such as Intel, Canon and Nokia.
In 2006 Dave was promoted to manager of the Test Instrumentation department; a YES business unit which designs, manufactures and distributes all of its own specialised test equipment through a network of worldwide Distributors. Following our acquisition and name change to Eurofins York, Dave remains Test Instrumentation Manager and is involved in all of the departments operational and financial activities including managing and supporting our network of worldwide Distributors.
Dave and his team also engage in research and development projects involving the design of tangible products by Eurofins York; often in conjunction with activities being undertaken by our Expert Services department.
As a Chartered Engineer Dave is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and is also of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (MIEEE).
In his spare time Dave volunteers as a Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Ambassador, imparting his engineering and product development experience and knowledge to the latest generation of students and judging school competitions.
